Beautiful men are in your mind Chasing idealized male beauty from the Edo period to the present day ;"Bi-Men" have been depicted in Ukiyo-e as the epitome of idealized beauty since the Edo period (1603-1868), such as Kabuki actors in the floral style. Even after the modern era, numerous beautiful men and sexy men reflecting the times have adorned the paintings, depicting a certain kind of spiritual strength and inner life style. This exhibition traces the transition and glamor of Bi-Men in the history of culture, focusing on works of art, to trace the form of "idealized male beauty" and to explore the reasons for their fascination with us.
